Kili-konka | Tips - 10 Things You Need To Know Before Coming To The Kilimanjaro
  1. Tanzania requires Visas for visitors coming from some countries. Please click HERE to find out your Visa requirements.
  2. Yellow fever vaccination is required to enter Tanzania. Although this requirement may change from time to time, one can get the vaccination at the point of entry into Tanzania.
  3. Make a list of your travel contacts to carry with you on your travels. (Guide, Hotel, Airport Transfer, Embassy, Travel Agent.)
  4. You will be able to withdraw local currency from an ATM using your Visa Card or Mastercard. Many local ATMs only accept PIN numbers with 6 or more digits, so please consult with your bank or credit card company if your card uses a 4-digit PIN.
  5. Be sure to inform your Bank and Credit Card companies that you will be traveling, so they don't block your transactions while you are in Tanzania.
  6. Pre-arrange your airport transfers from the airport to your destination.
  7. If you have any special diet requirements, be sure to make arrangements before-hand.
  8. Pack light colored clothing if you'll be going on game drives outside of the Kilimanjaro area. Dark colors attract Tsetse Flies, which bite!
  9. See our 'Travel Essentials Checklist', and our list of 'Things To Carry'.
  10. Leave a copy of your itinerary and of your Passport number with family in case of an emergency.
